Attendance and Leave Rules

Regular attendance is fundamental to a student’s academic performance, discipline, and overall development. At The Namakkal Teachers Vidhyaashram Matric Higher Secondary School, we place great importance on punctuality and regularity in attendance. The following rules are to be followed strictly by all students and parents:

Repeated or Prolonged Absence

Repeated absence without prior written permission or unexplained absence for more than five consecutive days will result in the student’s name being struck off the school rolls. In such cases, re-admission may be considered only upon payment of the full admission fee, subject to the discretion of the Principal.

Medical Absence and Fitness Certificate

Students returning to school after suffering from infectious or contagious diseases (such as chickenpox, measles, conjunctivitis, etc.) must submit a fitness certificate from a recognized medical authority. The certificate must confirm that the student has completed the mandatory quarantine period and is fit to rejoin school.

No Absence on Key Dates

Absence is strictly not permitted on the reopening day after vacation and on the last working day of each term. Any such absence without valid reason will be considered a serious breach of school discipline.

Leaving School Premises During Hours

Students will not be permitted to leave the school premises during class hours under any circumstance, except in the case of a medical or personal emergency, and that too only with written permission from the Principal or Headmistress and parent/guardian.

Parental Responsibility

Parents are requested to read and understand these rules carefully and ensure they are followed in the best interest of their child's academic continuity and discipline. Unauthorised absence reflects poorly on student responsibility and affects performance.

Reporting Time

All students must arrive at school at least 10 minutes before the first bell rings. Latecomers may not be allowed to enter the class without permission from the class teacher or school head.

Minimum Attendance Requirement

A minimum of 95% attendance for the academic year is mandatory for promotion to the next class. Exceptions will be considered only on valid medical grounds supported by a doctor's certificate and at the discretion of the Principal.

Attendance Awards

Students achieving 100% attendance throughout the academic year will be honored during the Annual Day celebration with a certificate and appreciation award as recognition of their commitment and discipline.

These attendance rules are established to instill responsibility, time management, and consistency in every student. We seek the full cooperation of parents in enforcing these policies to ensure that every child receives the maximum benefit from their learning journey.
