Guidelines for Parents / Guardians
The role of parents and guardians in the development of a child is invaluable. At The Namakkal Teachers Vidhyaashram, we believe that education is a collaborative effort between the school and the family. To ensure a well-rounded and harmonious development of the child’s personality, it is essential that parents actively support and supplement the school's efforts at home. A child's attitude, discipline, and performance are greatly influenced by the consistency and care offered at both school and home. We earnestly request parents to adhere to the following guidelines for the benefit and well-being of their children:
- Shared Responsibility: Education is a shared responsibility. We expect complete cooperation from parents/guardians in all academic, disciplinary, and developmental matters concerning their ward.
- Dress and Discipline: Ensure that your child comes to school every day in clean, prescribed uniform with their identity card, school diary, and all required books and stationery.
- Daily Diary Check: Kindly check the school diary daily to stay informed about assignments, circulars, and teacher notes. Please ensure homework is completed and countersign the diary regularly.
- Parent-Teacher Interaction: Parents may meet teachers only on Wednesdays between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Meetings outside this schedule are not permitted to avoid disruption of academic routines.
- Teacher Communication: If you wish to communicate with a specific teacher, kindly call 9488878200 to register your request. The teacher will return your call during a free period on the same day.
- Feedback & Concerns: For feedback or concerns, call 9488878204. Ask for your concern to be recorded and obtain a reference number. A response or resolution will be provided within 48 hours.
- Principal Appointment: Parents wishing to meet the Principal may call the same number to schedule an appointment.
- Leave Policy: Students should avoid unnecessary absences. Frequent leave may affect academic progress and attendance awards.
- English Communication: Encourage your child to speak in English at home, as it is the medium of instruction and mandatory within the campus.
- Personal Belongings: Students must take care of their personal belongings. The school is not responsible for loss or damage to student property.
- Prohibited Ornaments: Students should not wear gold, silver, or religious ornaments/threads. Confiscated items will be returned only to parents in person.
- Uniform Code: Full school uniform must be worn daily, except on notified celebration days. Any deviation from the standard design is not permitted.
- Grooming: Ensure students maintain proper grooming. Boys should have a neat haircut, and girls must wear their hair in two plaits. Improper grooming may result in the student being sent home.
- Fee Payment: Fees can be paid between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm on working days. The office is closed on Sundays.
- Fee Deadlines: Timely payment is mandatory. The first installment is due in the first week of March and the second in the first week of September. Non-payment may lead to discontinuation of services such as classes, transport, and mess.
- Vehicle Usage: Students are strictly prohibited from bringing or riding motorized two-wheelers or driving four-wheelers to school. Such vehicles will be impounded.
- Electronic Gadgets: Items such as mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, and iPads are strictly banned. Confiscated gadgets will be returned only to parents at the end of the academic year. Misused items will not be returned.
- Attendance Requirement: A minimum of 95% attendance is expected. Students with 100% attendance will be recognized and rewarded.
- Certificates & Attestations: Applications for certificates (Bonafide, Fee Structure for IT, etc.) must be submitted at least one week in advance.
- Use of Watches: Wearing watches is allowed only during exams. Only analog watches are permitted during exam days.
- Birthday Celebrations: Students should not bring cakes, chocolates, or unhealthy snacks. Only home-made or traditional sweets like groundnut or coconut candy are allowed.
- Personal Care Items: Items like perfumes, cosmetics, lipstick, flowers, etc., are not permitted. Such distractions are discouraged for a healthy learning environment.
- Uniform Modifications: Alterations to the uniform design are not allowed. If found, students will be asked to purchase a new uniform.
- Punctuality: The school gate closes sharply at 9:00 am. Latecomers will not be permitted entry under any circumstances.
These guidelines are intended to build a strong foundation for mutual understanding, respect, and accountability between the school and families. Your support helps us provide a safe, disciplined, and nurturing environment for all students.
