Guidelines for Good Conduct

At The Namakkal Teachers Vidhyaashram, we believe that discipline and proper conduct are as important as academic excellence in shaping a student’s character. Every student is a representative of the school both within and outside the campus. Their behavior reflects the values and standards of the institution. To maintain an atmosphere of respect, order, and responsibility, students are expected to follow these guidelines of good conduct:

Always Speak the Truth and Be Polite

Students must be polite, respectful, and well-mannered at all times. Whether in school, at home, or in public places, they are expected to uphold the reputation of the institution through their dignified behavior.

Respectful Greeting

Students should greet teachers, staff, and visitors with folded hands and a warm smile as a mark of traditional courtesy and respect.

Prohibited Behavior

The use of offensive or foul language, physical aggression, or bullying in any form—verbal, emotional, or physical—is strictly prohibited and will attract disciplinary action.

Electronic Devices

Carrying mobile phones, smartwatches, headphones, tablets, or any electronic gadgets to school is strictly forbidden. If found, the device will be confiscated and returned only at the end of the academic year to the parents. Repeated violations will lead to further disciplinary consequences.

Respect for School Property

Students should treat all school property with care. Damaging furniture, scribbling on desks or walls, littering the campus, or tampering with school fixtures will be considered a serious offence. The cost of any damage caused will be recovered from the student responsible, along with disciplinary action.

Respect for Others’ Belongings

Students must respect the belongings of their classmates and refrain from borrowing or tampering with others' items without permission.

Attendance and Absence

Students who are absent from school must submit a leave letter from their parent or guardian addressed to the Principal or Headmistress through the class teacher, explaining the reason for the absence. In case of extended absence due to illness, a valid medical certificate must accompany the leave request.

Responsibility and Integrity

Students are expected to be honest, punctual, and responsible in all their actions. Cheating, lying, or engaging in dishonest behavior undermines the school’s core values and will not be tolerated.

By adhering to these guidelines, students develop a disciplined lifestyle, a positive attitude, and a deep sense of personal responsibility. These qualities not only prepare them for success in academics but also for becoming respectful and contributing members of society.
