General Code of Conduct for Students

At The Namakkal Teachers Vidhyaashram Matric Higher Secondary School, we believe that good character is the foundation of a meaningful life. Discipline, integrity, and responsibility are the hallmarks of our students. This General Code of Conduct outlines the expected behavior that every student must follow to ensure a respectful, safe, and harmonious school environment.

Honesty is the best policy. Students must practice truthfulness in words and actions and should always speak respectfully with peers, teachers, and support staff. Politeness in communication reflects good upbringing and moral strength.

Students must show utmost respect to all teachers, elders, and staff members of the school. Standing up to greet teachers, listening attentively, and following instructions with sincerity are expected at all times.

Always be ready to lend a helping hand to teachers, parents, classmates, and others in need. Simple acts of kindness and cooperation go a long way in building character and community spirit.

Maintain a friendly and courteous attitude towards classmates and schoolmates. Avoid quarrels, teasing, name-calling, or any behavior that causes discomfort to others. Every student has a right to a safe and happy school environment.

Use fair means in all academic and sports activities. Cheating, copying, or using dishonest shortcuts are strictly prohibited and against the values of our institution. Play games with team spirit and integrity.

Students must keep classrooms, corridors, school grounds, and surroundings clean and litter-free. Defacing walls, desks, or damaging school property is strictly forbidden. Every student is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and hygienic standards of the school.

Regular attendance and punctuality are key to academic success. Students must arrive on time, attend all classes, and complete homework, classwork, and assignments promptly and sincerely.

Carry only those books and notebooks required for the day, as per the timetable. Keep all study materials neatly covered, labelled, and in good condition. Unnecessary books and items should be left at home.

Take care of furniture, laboratory equipment, computers, and all school facilities. Any damage to school property—whether accidental or intentional—must be reported immediately and may result in disciplinary action or payment for repairs.

The school uniform is a symbol of identity and pride. Students must wear it neatly and completely, as per school rules. Uniforms must be clean, well-maintained, and worn with dignity at all times.

While moving between classrooms or around the campus, students must walk quietly, keep to the left side of the corridor, and avoid running or pushing. Orderly movement shows discipline and respect for others’ space.

The morning assembly is a time for collective prayer, discipline, and information. Students must attend in silence, stand in proper lines, listen attentively, and participate actively with reverence.

Students must sing the National Anthem with sincerity and pride, standing respectfully and reflecting the honor of our nation.

Time is a precious resource. Students must learn to manage their schedules responsibly, avoiding procrastination and distractions. Time once lost cannot be regained—using it wisely builds success.

This code of conduct is designed to nurture responsible, respectful, and principled individuals. Adherence to these guidelines will create a positive and empowering school environment where every student can thrive.
